About Halyard

Plain talk, on-time arrivals, clean floors.

A residential plumbing company for the Lake Houston area, built on three rules written on the workshop wall.

Why Halyard exists

Walt spent years working for other plumbing outfits around Houston. The work was good. The way customers were treated often wasn’t.

Too many visits started late and ended with a bill nobody had explained. So when Walt started Halyard, he wrote three rules on the workshop wall and still points to them when he hires: show up when you said you would, explain the problem before you fix it, and leave the house clean.

The name comes from sailing. A halyard is the line that raises a sail, a nod to Lake Houston, where most of our customers live. It’s also a reminder that good plumbing is mostly about one line running cleanly from start to finish.

“If I can’t explain it so it makes sense at your kitchen table, I haven’t understood it well enough to fix it.”

Most days, the person who picks up the phone is a plumber. If we can’t help, we’ll tell you who can.

The three promises

What you can hold us to.

  1. We show up when we said we would

You get an arrival window, and a text when we are on the way. If something runs late, we call before the window closes.

  2. We explain it before we fix it

We show you what we found, give you the options and the price, and nothing starts until you say yes.

  3. We leave the house clean

Shoe covers on, drop cloths down, old parts hauled away. The only sign we were there is the thing that works now.
